Editor-in-Chief: Gary Yang, MD
Dr. Gary Yang is a Professor of the Department of Radiation Medicine, Loma Linda University Medical Center(LLUMC) in Southern California, where he leads the GI radiation oncology program. LLUMC is the first hospital-based proton treatment center in the United States, providing patients worldwide with cutting-edge proton therapy treatments and access to the world-class doctors and staff.
Dr. Yang received his medical degree from Chicago Medical School, IL, and completed his internship at Yale University, New Haven, CT, followed by residency training at Emory University, Atlanta, GA and fellowship at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD. Before joining LLUMC, Dr. Yang has served as Residency Program Director and Medical Director in Radiation Medicine during his tenure at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, NY.
Dr. Yang is an internationally recognized expert in GI cancers. He is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology, Associate Editor for the Journal of Thoracic Disease, and editorial board member of the World Journal of GI Oncology and Thoracic Cancer. He is also a reviewer for over fifteen peer-reviewed journals (e.g. Journal of Clinical Oncology, Oncology, Radiology, International Journal of Radiation Oncology Biology Physics) and has authored or co-authored more than 100 journal publications, abstracts and book chapters.
Dr. Yang was invited as moderator/faculty speaker at various scientific and educational sessions of international conferences including International Society of GI Oncology (ISGIO) and American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO). Research Council of America named Dr. Yang among the "America’s Top Oncologists". He was named to “America's Top Doctors” by Castle Connolly Medical, Ltd.
